One Year, Many Changes 📖

At the beginning of tenth grade, Nicolás felt unsure about several things. He was not comfortable speaking in front of groups, he had difficulty organizing his schoolwork and he had no idea what he wanted to study later. During the year, however, he had several experiences that changed the way he saw himself. He joined a school project that required teamwork, participated in a short community activity and started using a weekly planner. None of these experiences was dramatic, but together they helped him become more confident and independent. Nicolás still does not have one final career plan. Instead, he has decided to explore options related to technology and communication because both match his interests. He says the most important thing he has learned is that progress usually comes from small actions repeated over time.

A Practical Idea Can Go Far 📖

A group of tenth-grade students wanted to improve one public space near their school. At first, they discussed several ambitious ideas, including building new sports areas and completely redesigning the park. They soon realized those plans were too expensive and difficult to organize. Instead, they focused on three smaller problems: poor lighting, too few trash bins and damaged benches. They collected comments from families, took photos and presented a short proposal to local leaders. The proposal did not include everything they originally imagined, but it was realistic. Two months later, new lights and bins were installed, and repairs to the benches had started. The students said the project taught them that a smaller solution with clear evidence and community support can sometimes create more immediate change than a much bigger idea.
